1944Studies at the School of Arts at Sabadell (Catalunya Spain).
1945He starts to work with the sculptor ENRIC MONJO, where he learns the secrets
of the job which he will develop during all his life.
1946-481946-48. Later on, he works at the studio of the sculptor MARTI LLAURADO. Create
the first “Salon de Tardor” (Salon d’Automne) of Barcelona, where he presents his
works.
1952He receives a scholarship from the French Institute of Barcelona. And goes to
Paris where he starts to work with APEL.LES FENOSA, HAJDU and CAMPIGLI.
During this period nearly every day he visited the museums of Paris, (which was his
topic) and so studies the works of RODIN, MAILLOL and several other authors. He
visited, specially the Louvre Museum, the Jeu de Paume, etc..
1953-60Travels to Sweden, where he collaborates with differents Swedish sculptors,
such as HERIC GRATE, SLIC BROMBERG, JONSON. He restaured different
churches, and also in the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
1961He presents his works in a collective exposition in the “Saló de Maig” (May’s
Salon) and also in the Salle “Loscertales”.
1962-76He realised larges monumental pieces for private clients of Barcelona,
Madrid and Bilbao.
1979Important monographic exhibition in the « Saló del Tinell » of Barcelona.
19801980. Individual Exhibition in the French Institute of Barcelona, and also in the Sala
Kreisler and the “ Fons International de Pintura “ of Barcelona.
1981He was asked to realise the « Monument als Immolats per la llibertat a
Catalunya”, which was supposed to be installed in the “Fossar de la Pedrera”, in
Montjuich (Barcelona). This sculpture, realized in direct carving, is by the big size and
its importance, and tecnique also, maybe the first of that size since 1564. His artistic
value decided the Parliement of Catalunya to buy it and to finance a copy in bronze
installed at the “Fossar de la Pedrera”. The original is a property of the Parliement of
Catalunya, and it is still to be seen in the gardens of the Library of the Parliement.
1982He participes to a collective exhibition of “Arts Plastiques 50-80 Expoculture de
Barcelona.”
1985He received an order: To realise a sculpture of Saint Stephane for the Parish of La
Garriga (Barcelona).
1985-861985. He goes to New York. He received an important comand: A big relief (2,65m.x
1,73m.) for the Schulman Corporation.
19881988. He goes once more to the States. The Sindin Gallery ordered a very important
project: a trilogy of sculptures of a big size. Back to Barcelona, he starts the first
sculpture of this order. Unfortunately, Edward Sindin, his best friend and merchant in
the USA, died. He had to think about the whole project. He obtained an economic aid
of some particulars. Back to the project he goes on and tried to finish the first enormous
piece: “El Quite”, three years later. (0,90 x 3,20 x1.40 m.).
19911991. He presented to the “Centre Civic de Sant Andreu” a photographic
exhibition“Estudi sobre l’Escultura” based on the photographic material upon the
realisation of the sculpture “El Quite”.
1992Meanwhile he works and realised some sculptures ordered by particulars.
1993He begins the second monumental sculpture of the trilogy; work which remains
unfinished has cause of its death.
1999Posthumous exhibition in the Galeria Trece (Ventalló.Girona) or, among others,
we expose a photo report of the process of realization of the sculptures.
